Dmitry Venkov
Dmitry Venkov graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Cinema History (2006) and New Media School named after Rodchenko (2012).
Dmitry works with video, actually making full-length films with a well-developed structure, reacting to the events of social and political life in Russia and beyond.
In 2012, he won the Kandinsky Prize in the nomination “Young artist. Project of the Year” for the project “Crazy Imitators ”.
Participant in numerous group exhibitions: 5th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art (2013), Bergen Assembly 2013 (Bergen, Norway, 2013), Burning News: Recent Art from Russia (Hayward Gallery, London, 2014), Close and Far (Calvert 22, London, 2014), Cannibal Manifesto: Mimesis as Resistance (Karst Foundation, Plymouth, 2015), “Interaction: the view of contemporary artists on the MMOMA collection” (Moscow Museum of Modern Art, 2016) and others. Participant in film festivals in Wiesbaden (2015), Oberhausen (2016), Thessaloniki (2016), as well as the Moscow International Film Festival (2012, 2014) and the Kino der Kunst Festival, Munich (2013).
